The 2018 Lebanon County Envirothon Scholarship recipients were officially acknowledged and presented each with a $1000 scholarship at the July 19th Lebanon County Conservation District Board Meeting.
District Manager Katie Doster and Vice Chairman Glen Krall presented the awards to Alexa Emerich (graduate of Lebanon High School attending Lebanon Valley College this fall), Cody Speicher (graduate of ELCO attending Paul Smith’s College), & Brock Culver (graduate of Palmyra High School and attending Elizabethtown College).
This year the Lebanon County Envirothon was able to offer three $1000 scholarships. The Envirothon Scholarship was made available to graduating seniors, participating in the Lebanon County Envirothon. The conservation district received applications from; ELCO, Lebanon, and Palmyra High Schools. Applications were reviewed by the Envirothon committee and ranked per specific, predetermined criteria to tabulate scores for each applicant. Stephanie Harmon, Lebanon County Conservation District’s Watershed Specialist and Envirothon coordinator stated, “Scores for each applicant were very close. The LCCD and the Lebanon County Envirothon are extremely happy and proud to give this group of individuals each a $1000 scholarship. It is through the generous donations of Lebanon County businesses and organizations that have, and continue to donate to the Lebanon County Envirothon that we are able to award three scholarships this year!”
