Manure Injection Incentive Program

LCCD recognizes the importance of utilizing manure nutrients in an efficient and effective manner while decreasing soil and nutrient contamination to local waterways. The manure injection incentive program is intended to incentivize agricultural operators interested in trying manure injection at a lower cost.

New in 2026: Additional $20 per Acre for Injecting into Cover Crop

Compensation is determined on a tiered system based on years of participation in the program

  • First Year: $40 per acre

  • Second Year: $30 per acre

  • Third+ Year: $20 per acre

Plus additional $20 per acre for injecting into cover crop

Manure Injector

limitations and Requirements

  • Must inject on the same acres in spring and fall (if applicable)

  • Maximum of 200 acres per operation

  • Manure must be injected between March 1, 2026 and December 16, 2026

  • Manure Management Plan or Nutrient Management Plan must be updated to include the allowable application rate for injection

Applications

Funding is limited and allocated on a first come, first serve basis, with priority given to have not injected manure in the past
